"See, I Am Doing A New Thing" in 2022
Happy New year! I hope you had a joyful and restful holiday season. Because of the deep freeze that we Albertans found ourselves in, I was able to enjoy a lot of family time and reading – two of my favorite things!
Recently, one of our directors shared some verses that they felt the Lord giving their prayer group for this new year:
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:18,19a
God is definitely doing a new thing in our ministry. While we know you will be blessed with our highlights from 2021 in the upcoming February newsletter, we wanted to give you some news early. We are excited to announce that we have two new staff in our Canadian office! I, Donna, will be following the Lord’s leading to pursue full time employment elsewhere, while Leah Johnson, our recently hired office administrator, will be stepping up to take on the role of Executive Director. We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought Leah to our ministry. She brings much personal and professional experience in the areas of fostering and adoption, crisis intervention, program planning and leadership development.
We have also hired a new office administrator. Please join us in welcoming Leslie Stewart to the team! Leslie is no stranger to Father’s House – she spent three months volunteering for our ministry in Romania when we were just getting going. Her time there left an indelible mark upon her heart for the work that we do with orphaned and abandoned children. She is excited to be joining a ministry that she feels so passionate about and looks forward to managing all things office related.
Thank you so much for your continued support. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership which sustains the work of Father’s House in Romania and South Africa. I know that our new staff look forward to what the Lord will do in 2022, and to getting to know you as well! Feel free to call our office if you have any questions or concerns.
Much love and blessings,
Donna O'Connor
