Help us give the gift of water in South Africa!
There are ongoing water shortages in South Africa.
The recent flooding has created an urgent need.
We need your help.
We need WATER.
Water.
Such a simple concept. In Canada, I turn on my tap when I want a drink. I can wash dishes every day, do laundry, fill a kiddie pool. I get to choose. I can usually water my garden when I want to. I complain that I don't get the hot water I wanted when my preteen showers before me. It is constantly available to me. I take it for granted.
In many areas, especially in the townships of Amanzimtoti/Durban area of South Africa, water is not a guarantee. Some of our FHI families have to load up their water at night to use for the next day, as it is not guaranteed to turn on when the next day comes. This is ongoing, even previous to the recent torrential rain pour.
With the recent flooding, main water lines have washed away and are in the process of being rebuilt. All of our families have had only brown, intermittent, non-potable water coming out of their taps. Local officials are working hard to restore the water sources, but the process takes time. Our current water need has now become urgent.
LET'S HELP!
We have found a way to help by using rainwater. Using rainwater harvesting is a natural and more sustainable way that we can significantly improve access to drinking water for our families. We are in the process of providing water tanks for all of our FHI families in South Africa. We want you get involved! Here's how:
-
Pray for South Africa. Pastor Robert, one of our FHI fathers, shares HERE, how we need God's hand to move. We need wisdom for local leadership to continue to develop local infrastructure in the area we work. God is sovereign! Pray with us.
-
Give the gift of water. Click the link below to donate to this cause and help us buy water tanks for our FHI families in South Africa*. Our goal is to raise approximately $3500 CAD to provide all the water tanks and supplies needed.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYER AND PARTNERSHIP! God is so faithful!
As we face the challenges of the world today, let's keep our eyes on Him who fills us from the inside out. "Whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty. The water that I will give him will become in him a well of life that lasts forever.” John 4:14
*Any funds given above our current water needs, will be used towards other urgent needs that may arise, such as providing food to families in need, due to the increasing food shortage present as a result of the war in Ukraine.
